Welcome

Highside are a four piece rock covers band who set out with a vision of performing rock classics and the best new music. Aiming to bring quality live music to any event, Highside have put together a list of what they consider to be some of the best and well known rock tunes (as well as some unexpected songs) and continue to add to it. With covers from bands such as Queen, Bon Jovi, Free, The Killers, Thin Lizzy, Stereophonics, Lenny Kravitz and Guns 'N' Roses to name but a few.

With a tight sound and solid set list Highside are ready to be unleashed and bring their music to you and put a stamp on the music scene.  As a fusion of many successful bands Highside have been put together by taking the cream of the crop from each of the groups. Wayne and Matt where in an original band (Insert) which had a large following and a record deal and John and Steve have been part of many covers bands over the years and have a real honed in talent for their instruments.
Highside are ready to rock and raring to play.

What an absolutely awesome first year...

Well what an absolutely awesome first year Highside have had. We really have gone from strength to strength and been lucky enough to play to a lot of great people at fantastic venues. We have gone from hand delivering our demo cd (which we recorded live in Matt's living room) to venues in the hope someone would give us our first gig, to getting regular slots at venues we consider to be great and established places to play. We've also been lucky enough to play to festivals and private functions along the way which we loved too.
We have learned a lot in our first year but still have so much to learn and experience and our set list is forever changing and new songs added constantly, which we enjoy as it keeps things fun and exciting.
I'd really like to thank the "highsiders" who come from gig to gig and give us so much support. You guys rock \m/
Looking forward to what our next year brings and hope some of you guys come along with us for the ride.

Remember remember the 5th of November

Less than 2 weeks till our anniversary gig at The Crown Hotel, Chertsey. We want as many of you as possible to make it as we're hoping this is gonna be an awesome night. So get it in your diaries.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better!

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better!
It's been a couple of month since I blogged on here and what a crazy time it's been (crazy but good). We've played everything from pubs to a Hawaiian themed party! to a charity event to bike rallies and all have been great.
We played our most local gig to date (at the North Star, Staines) and we absolutely rocked the place, it was nice to go down well in our local town. We also played a bar in Wokingham that according to the locals hadn't had a band in since the 70's!(Lord Raglan) and had a good night there. We really enjoyed our debut at The Blacksmith arms, great venue and we're back there soon.
I guess though, the cream of the crop of gigs for us was the motorbike rallies we did. We did a couple but the best being the vtwin. What a fantastic night and it's nice to have a big rowdy crowd dancing and singing along. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up thinking about it, I guess that's what it's all about ;-)
We're back at the North star this weekend and we're looking forward to our return to the Rose and Crown and our long awaited debut at the Three Mariners, Hope to see you there \m/

Highside: It's that time of the month again...

It's that time of the month again... the Highside update blog!Well it's been another great month for us. We've got bookings into next year, Infact we have bookings up till December next year. We are by no means fully booked but it's great that venues have confidence in us and good venues at that.We had quit a few debuts this month too, notably The Rose and Crown Sandhurst and The Crown hotel Chertsey (as mentioned in our last blog), we also had good nights at the Oddfellow arms, Sweeneys and the Silver birch. We've been adding songs to our repertoire too which we will be playing at our near future gigs, some old, some new and some you might not expect. We hope to see you at some of our gigs this month, we really are picking up momentum and the crowds and venues just keep getting better and better.See you there m/

Highside: Wow, what a great end to a bus...

Wow, what a great end to a busy but exciting month for Highside. We played some fantastic venues this month but the response we got at The Crown hotel in Chertsey blew us away. What an awesome crowd and venue. We had a fantastic response to the new songs we've added to our set too, which is never a bad thing! We also had an awesome set at the beer and music festival at The Swan Inn,(Swanfest). Which we were really pleased to be asked to play and Our return to The Silver Birch saw some familiar faces. We had a great night and we are booked there for New Years Eve... Party!!!We we're also thrilled to be invited to headline the final night of the 35th international vtwin rally, which needless to say, we are really looking forward to.As well as our gigs we attended an open mike night at The Row Barge and met some great and talented people. I recommend it.Looking forward to what this month has in store :-)
