Wayne first jumped feet first into the music scene at 13 in high school fronting a number of rock covers and originals acts culminating in Insert an originals Rock act who won a number of local and national battle of the bands competitions, performed live on national radio and later signed with a major label to produce some stunning Rock music. Following a number of projects including nationwide touring and some live radio performances.  Better than ever, with real focus and a new band, reunited with ex insert drummer Matt (Chidzey), Wayne and Highside are ready to rock and party into the early hours.

Matt Chidzey (Drums/Backing Vocals),
Matt is an ex recording studio owner who is now a Drum and Music Technology teacher. He started his semi-pro live career at age 14 Drumming for Taxi, a function band playing classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Whilst playing with TAXI the bright lights and loud noise of rock stardom beckoned and he and Wayne (Mcintyre) started a band with 2 friends which would go on to become Insert a 4 piece originals rock band signed to BMI/Scratch records with a large following and some great new music. After Insert Matt has performed with a number of bands, playing both covers and original music ranging from complex modern jazz through show tunes and musicals to heavy rock. With a true love for playing live Matt has found a new home in Highside playing anything that rocks.

John “nonny” Payne (lead guitar/Backing Vocals)
John is the definition of lead guitarist fast and slick with an unending amount of riffs and licks. John started playing aged 9 and hasn’t put his guitar down yet. With vast amounts of passion and raw talent along with a meticulous and fastidious nature there is nothing John can’t play once he has set his mind to it. With many bands under his belt including brief spell with Insert and being a founding member of Drunken Puff and Kashmir Kavemen, John has a huge amount of live experience and the ability to play anything anytime and at any speed. John brings the noise to every performance and lifts Highside from strength to strength
John plays Ibanez and Jackson Guitars and uses Marshal and Peavey amps and Cabs


Steve Connell (Bass/Backing Vocals).
Steve has had a long and varied live career playing in both covers and originals bands. Starting out on guitar aged 14 Steve developed into a truly versatile and engaging musician, playing Lead and rhythm Guitar, Bass and Drums Steve is able to lock the rhythm section into the melody to produce some stunning music. Steve enjoyed a lot of successful stage time with the Wedding/Function band Pennystone who also wrote and produced a lot of their own music. Following Pennystone Steve, John (Payne) and Matt (Chidzey) founded Drunken Puff which morphed into the popular covers band Kashmir Kavemen. With a Lead Guitarists fret work and a drummer’s rhythm Steve is an amazingly accomplished musician with a fantastic sound and groove, Steve fuses the melody to the rhythm in Highside and brings their best to every performance.
